Casa Marina is a resort area built around the Casa Marina Hotel. In the early part of the last century, Henry Flagler built the Overseas Railroad, from Miami to Key West, over 42 bridges. His own bridge, The Seven Mile Bridge, was called the Eighth Wonder of the World by his admirers, and Flagler’s Folly by those who disapproved. He began building the hotel, but died in a fall before he could finish it. It was finished by his good friend, Louis P. Schutt. The resort is built on a coral reef, and most of the homes were built in the post WWII, and Korean War years.
You can walk to places like Higgs Beach, the White Street Pier & Reynolds Pier.
