Ramrod Key Real Estate
The original name was Roberts Key. In the early nineteenth century, a ship named Ramrod was wrecked on a reef to the south of there, and the island was renamed. It’s a popular tourist attraction because of its proximity to Looe Key, a coral reef within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The Overseas Highway crosses Ramrod Key around mile markers 26-27.5.
